Most of our team members and guides were born and raised in Uganda. This can ensure you of the deep knowledge and connection we have to our land and our nature. But we also know our customer needs and are happy to present Uganda in the very best way to all our upcoming guests. We are constantly updating our knowledge, gear and equipment to offer you the best possible service during your stay. We have personally travelled to all our offered destinations in order to know all details of our tours.
Our office is located in Entebbe where most of our guests arrive. Our local presence is exactly what makes it possible for us to give accurate, competent and up-to-date travel advice to our clients and to ensure the highest comfort and safety standards in our expeditions. We are a fully licensed tour operator and we have hosted thousands of guests from all over the world.
Uganda Horizon Safaris started out with only three people and has constantly grown since 2014. Most of our team members have worked in tourism for more than 10 years, bringing in a large capacity of experience and knowledge.
With a warm smile and unmatched attention to detail, Eva ensures every guest feels at home from the moment they inquire to the final farewell. Based in Entebbe, she expertly coordinates all logistics, from lodge bookings to last-minute changes, making sure each safari runs seamlessly. Her deep knowledge of Uganda’s hidden gems and her passion for creating unforgettable journeys have made her an indispensable part of the team. Meet John—a dynamic and deeply knowledgeable safari guide who plays a vital role in Uganda Horizon Safaris’ operations. Based between Entebbe and Kampala, John (yes, she’s a “she”!) brings over a decade of guiding experience and a unique passion for Uganda’s wildlife and culture. With a background in conservation tourism and an infectious energy, John seamlessly coordinates all safari logistics, ensuring smooth departures, unforgettable wildlife encounters, and warm guest experiences. Her calm leadership and local insight make her a favorite among travelers and partners alike. Whether it’s a gorilla trek in Bwindi or a boat safari in Murchison Falls, John’s touch ensures every itinerary feels personal, safe, and enriching. Meet Edward — our dedicated logistics manager and trusted driver for all Uganda itineraries. Based in Entebbe and Kampala, Edward ensures every journey with Uganda Horizon Safaris begins and ends smoothly. From coordinating airport transfers to managing local transportation across the country, her meticulous planning and calm professionalism keep everything on track. With a deep knowledge of the region, dependable partners, and a problem-solving mindset, Edward makes sure that our guests experience worry-free travel logistics while enjoying the natural and cultural wonders of Uganda.
Zoe is the heart and soul behind every Uganda Horizon Safaris itinerary. With her radiant charm and deep-rooted passion for Ugandan culture and landscapes, she ensures each guest feels personally welcomed and cared for. As our charismatic guest manager, Zoe masterfully balances logistics, local insights, and guest feedback to shape immersive and seamless journeys. Whether it’s coordinating a gorilla trek in Bwindi or refining a sunset cruise on the Nile, Zoe brings precision and warmth to every detail. Her energy, storytelling flair, and eye for authentic experiences help transform our tours into unforgettable memories. Our team has travelled personally to all our offered destinations in Uganda in order to make that everything is arranged as wanted by our customers and not leaving any doubts about the quality of our trips. We understand that travelling all the way to Uganda requires a bigger investment and longer schedule than most other vacations – so we know about the doubts that clients might have. Our communication and experience will make sure that you will get exactly what you are paying for and we will make sure that your planned safari and climb will be planned in detail so that you can fully focus on enjoying your vacation stress free from start to finish.
In order to offer the best quality and travel standards to our clients, we have invested in means of transport such as Safari Jeeps, busses for our teams and Vans that are used to pick up our clients from the airport and take them to the hotels before starting safaris or hiking. We have investment additionally in gear for our porters and guides, but also in gear to hire for our clients to make sure that you got everything you will need to enjoy your time in the mountain or on your safari. All the gear and equipment that we are using has been tested under real conditions to make sure that it will serve for all weather conditions. We did not only pay attention to brands and names but also to real usability and comfort for our clients and teams on the mountain.

In order to offer the best service to our clients, we are collaborating with Kilimanjaro Mountain Gear in Tanzania so that our clients can hire all necessary mountain gear that is needed to successfully climb the Rwenzori Mountains. We have imported all the necessary equipment and buy local equipment whenever it is possible.
Our team of professional, dedicated and experienced safari & mountain guides is what really makes the entire experience so memorable. We always select our team members very carefully to ensure our client’s safety and well-being throughout their stay. As personality and knowledge are equally important, we usually require an assistant time of minimum 6 months before fully joining our team.
We have our own fleet of transport so that we don’t rely on third party services in order to provide you with the best services at all times. Our vans are used for airport pickups, while the minibuses are used for taking our team to the accommodations. The jeeps are used for safaris in the national parks all over Uganda to provide you with the most comfortable way of transport at all times.
All our Jeeps are custom made with a convertible roof top for a 360° degree view for game drive in the parks and 8 comfortable seats, a fridge and individual power sockets to charge your electronic devices while on safari. The jeeps are also equipped with radio calls for constant communication inside the national parks. All our guide drivers are trained mechanics so that you never have to worry about getting stuck on dirt roads and off road tracks.
We treat our team like family and our customers recognize this. Working together always needs mutual respect. Going on safari and climbing mountains like the Rwenzoris is great teamwork, it starts from selecting the best route, knowing the weather conditions, having the right equipment with you and last but not least to select the right crew members to achieve your goal with the best team available. All our guides know their porters over many years and can count on them in all situations. After every climb we have a conversation with our guides and clients and appreciate their feedback in order to improve our services. We want all our clients to enjoy the time they spend in Uganda and at the same time let local people participate in our success by paying fair salaries and encouraging our team to always improve their skills and knowledge to provide the best service.

Our guides will share all their knowledge about hiking the Rwenzori Mountains and the various national parks on safari. All the accommodations that we are working with are hand picked and our team has visited each place personally in order to provide you first hand advice for your specific travel.
